Below, you will find a useful checklist when buying an online business – blog, eCommerce, Amazon FBA, Shopify, etc. Reach out to us for any additional items to add or suggestions.
- LLC transfer, in Wyoming, it will be an easy process.
- Quickbooks – P&L, Balance Sheet and access to Quickbooks, transfer the whole account.
- Trademarks, check if registered with USPTO
- Google Analytics – transfer the account on “account level”
- Google Webmaster tools
- Google Tag Manager
- Bing Webmaster – if any, as most companies/sellers do not have one. (but it’s important, it’s separate subject on about 17% traffic share of Bing!).
- Hosting
- Check number of files and how big the hosting is. If too many files and large files in the hosting, it may cause issues when you migrate (higher costs)
- Check if hosting is ONLY attached to the domain/s you are buying. If they are other assets (domains, hosting accounts), this will increase the time of transfer and setup. Goal is to have clean and simple hosting with only the domains/hosting services you purchase.
- DNS
- Domain Registrar – this is the most important item.
- Mail Servers, access to all emails.
- Instagram – must be the account login
- Facebook – needs to be the business account via Meta. They need to authorize you as owner/master account.
- Amazon Seller Central – access to login.
- Ebay, Walmart, Etsy, etc – all marketplaces, get full access with the login details.
